Our Story
Bethesda Cares, Inc. offers flexible, creative responses to problems related to homelessness and poverty. We are located in Bethesda, the services are offered to those living on the street from the DC Metro area. Homeless prevention is available for residents of Montgomery County. Eviction prevention keeps people from becoming homeless and is a high priority of Bethesda Cares in stopping the creation of homeless people.
Our Staff
Bethesda Cares’ small staff is ably assisted by hundreds of volunteers from the community. The professional Outreach specialist provides counseling and referrals to services for the homeless clients we see daily. A psychiatrist sees people once a week in our office for diagnosis, medication checks and referrals. Basic needs are met through the lunch, shower and clothing closet programs. People in Montgomery County are assisted by our Eviction Counselor who keeps them safe and warm in their homes.
Our Board
The Board Officers and Directors are volunteers from our community. They provide policy direction and fiscal oversight as well as plunge in to help with community outreach. Working with staff, they help identify and take care of client needs.
